Why does it work?

The main components that do all the hard work are the three MEM (micro
electro- mechanical) sensors. Two of them are inclinometers for roll and pitch,
the third is a yaw-sensing gyro. These very small gyros were originally developed
for the use in guided cruise missiles and other aerospace applications. They
were until recently very expensive, but increased usage by the automotive
industry has made them more affordable.

We then have the necessary mini computer with its sophisticated software that
process all the data and makes the ACS the best Attitude Control System on
the market.

The three MEM's and the computer is housed in a small box about 100mm
square and 40mm deep.

We then have the icing on the cake the control panel, with its four membrane
switches arranged around the on/of switch.
Two vertical rows of six LED's indicating trim tab position and further three show
leg trim.
